Andy Murray vs John Isner: Wimbledon 2022 start time, how to watch and h2h results

Andy Murray will attempt to reach the third-round of Wimbledon on Wednesday with a clash against fellow veteran John Isner.

At a combined age of 72, the showdown will pitch two of the 2022 championship’s most experienced players against each other, with the big serve of Isner facing the Centre Court-backed Murray in the evening headline spot.

Isner has only reached the latter stages of Wimbledon once, a semi-final appearance in 2018, but is seeded No20. In the first-round, it took the American five sets to down qualifier Enzo Couacaud.

Murray had a scare of his own in overcoming James Duckworth in an eventually-comfortable four-set win on Monday.

Scheduled after Novak Djokovic and Emma Raducanu’s matches on Centre Court, play is expected to begin at around 3.30pm BST but could very easily be later.

Murray vs Isner head-to-head (h2h) results

Murray has never lost to the American veteran, claiming victory in all eight of their competitive matches.

Their most recent clash came in the 2016 ATP Masters in Paris, while they have never met on grass.

Murray vs Isner prediction

After making a bit of a meal of his first-round match, Isner has plenty to prove in what will be a fiery Centre Court, charged by the earlier matches involving two big names.

It is hard to see the Murray resurgence going too deep into the tournament but he surely has the ability to down a player even longer in the tooth than he is.
