ANDY Murray's next Wimbledon opponent mistakenly said the Scot was from England in an interview on Tuesday.
Times reporter Stuart Fraser has quoted American John Isner - who the Scot is due to face in the second round at SW19 - on Twitter as saying: "I was watching him a little bit on the TV in the locker room, packed house all cheering for him, one of their best players ever, England's best players ever."
Murray, of course, hails from Dunblane and has in the past had to correct people who have referred to him as being from south of the Border.
He will face Isner on Wednesday in a bid to progress to the third round after defeating Australian James Duckworth on Centre Court on Monday in four sets.

Isner, who is one of the biggest servers on the ATP Tour, needed five sets to come through against French qualifier Enzo Couacaud.
The pair have played 10 times and Murray has never lost, though their last clash was six years ago, a very different time and place for the former world number one.
After his first-round win, Murray said: "I've played well against John in the past but I've never played him on grass. He plays well here and could have made the final a few years ago."
The match is scheduled to start at approximately 4.45pm on Centre Court.
