Andy Murray roasted for 'tamest ever' reaction to Scotland's Euro 2020 win

Andy Murray has been roasted on social media for his reaction to Scotland’s victory over Serbia last night.

The Scots tennis ace, like most of the nation, was on the edge of his seat as the men’s national football team went to penalties in the crunch play-off tie to make Euro 2020.

But the 33-year-old’s hilarious and slightly subdued Instagram response to David Marshall’s historic penalty save has gone viral.

Watching it from the comfort of his home, he filmed himself fist-pumping while saying “get in! Get in”.

Dozens of fans have shared the reaction while taking the opportunity to slag for former Wimbledon champ off.

One person wrote: “The quietest celebration ever by Andy Murray.”

Another said: “Calm down @andy_murray, my ears are hurting after such a wild celebration from you.”

“Would hate to be Andy Murray’s neighbours”, said another.

Andy posted his reaction to the result shortly after it was confirmed that the Scots men’s football team would be going to Euro 2020 next year.

The side were victorious in a nerve-wracking play-off final after beating Serbia on penalties last night.

It will be the first time the men’s team has reached a major finals since 1998.

A number of celebs shared their reaction to the result, including Line of Duty star Martin Compston and Scots comedian Kevin Bridges.

Nicola Sturgeon also congratulated the team, as the First Minister tweeted: “Massive congratulations to Steve Clarke and the team.

“After 22 years, @ScotlandNT men are off to a major tournament, What a lift for the country. Well done!”
