Andy Murray Resurfacing: Stars attend London premiere of Amazon documentary charting comeback

A new documentary charting Andy Murray’s comeback from a career-threatening hip injury has premiered in London.

The one-off film, titled 'Resurfacing', will be released on Amazon Video later this week, and follows Murray’s journey for the best part of two years as he struggled through rehabilitation from the chronic problem.

At this year’s Australian Open, an emotional Murray appeared to be on the brink of retirement, but he has since fought back, and is set to make his Grand Slam singles return Down Under in January, despite playing a limited part in Britain’s Davis Cup Finals campaign this week because of injury.

In October, Murray won the European Open in Antwerp to claim his first ATP Tour title in more than two-and-a-half years.

Murray was joined at the premiere by brother Jamie, mother, Judy, and wife Kim, as well as the film’s director Olivia Cappuccini.

British tennis stars Katie Swan and Jack Draper also walked the red carpet at the Curzon Bloomsbury, along with Cheriece and Shannon Hylton, the twin sister sprinters signed to Murray’s management label.
