So, two days on and the big question in this parish is how is our Centre Court hero faring in the style stakes? Actually, he's doing rather brilliantly. At a meeting with three rather dull political suits at Downing Street on the Monday after his Wimbledon victory, Andy Murray shone. Wearing a dark blue single-breasted suit, white shirt and slim tie by Burberry, he looked sharp yet relaxed, confidently outplaying David Cameron and co with their dull politico garb.
Props to Murray, too, for not trying to do the Gerard Butler/Bradley Cooper pastel-blue thing, which on a sportsman other than David Beckham would have looked too try-hard. We shouldn't be surprised he went to the Burberry folks for sartorial nous – he and Kim Sears are regulars on the catwalk front row at the brand – and if there's one thing we have learned from back-to-back viewing of The Man Behind The Raquet, it's that Murray is savvy enough to surround himself with a crack team.
