Andy Murray 'could have stand-up career' after comedy guest appearance

Andy Murray could have a career in stand-up comedy after a hilarious stint on TV show A League of Their Own, the hosts have claimed.

Show star Freddie Flintoff claims Murray is one of the most “iconic” guests they’ve had.

Co-host Romesh Ranganathan claims Murray is so funny it’s “crazy”.

The show has returned for its 15th series and will feature tennis star Andy this Thursday. The Bafta-winning programme manages to attract big-name sports stars as guests and this series features the likes of Eddie Hearn, Dina Asher-Smith and Anthony Joshua.

Flintoff describes former Wimbledon champ Andy – who is a three-time Grand Slam tournament winner – as an “iconic” guest.

He said: “Honestly, I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say you have never seen Andy Murray as he is on this show.”

Fellow host and comedian Ranganathan agreed about Murray’s funny side, saying: “Absolutely crazy.

“I could not believe it – he could be a stand-up.”

●The new series of A League of Their Own will be airing on Sky One and Now TV from Thursday, August 20.
