Andy Murray could be back on the ATP Tour sooner than first thought after the former world number one shared footage of a gruelling rally in training.
The two-time Wimbledon champion has been out of action with a pelvic injury since helping Great Britain reach the semi-finals of the revamped Davis Cup in November.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist had hoped to compete at the Australian Open in January, but was forced to pull out and has also missed recent tournaments in Montpellier and Rotterdam.
There were fears that the 32-year-old may have to go under the knife again in a bid to cure the problem, but Murray appeared to allay those fears with the post on his Instagram account.
The Scot uploaded a clip of him taking part in a rally in training and captioned the post with a question that asked fans if they "give up or keep fighting".
The final few seconds of the post did reveal, though, that Murray was struggling in the rally as he revealed his "legs (were) gone".
The footage will certainly come as positive news to the three-time Slam winner's fans who will be hoping to see him back in action at Wimbledon this summer.
Since becoming world number one for the first time at the end of 2016, the 32-year-old has been plagued by a series of hip problems that saw him fall to outside the top 800 in the rankings.
The three-time Sports Personality of the Year winner has already undergone two surgeries on his hip and made a triumphant comeback after the second op to win the European Open late last year.
However, his return was short-lived as the Scot's team confirmed that a pelvic problem which hampered his involvement in the Davis Cup would rule him out of the Australian Open and the ATP Cup at the start of this season.
