Andy Murray’s comeback has been delayed by 24 hours after day two at the Queen’s Club Championships on Tueday was cancelled.
Matches involving the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Juan Martin del Potro have been rescheduled for Wednesday.
While Murray is set to play doubles with Feliciano Lopez as players warm up for Wimbledon, which is due to start on July 1.
As many as 10 singles matches and two doubles contests were set to be played on Tuesday but spells of rain led to a number of false starts before the organisers were forced to cancel the day’s play after 1700 local time (1600GMT).
Murray’s comeback is after five months since “life-changing” hip resurfacing surgery following his first round exit at the Australian Open.
Lopez, 32, will help Murray’s comeback, but the Spaniard has been included in an alleged match-fixing investigation in Spain.
The Spanish tennis player has been named in a report by newspaper El Confidencial as being under suspicion of match-fixing during a doubles match at Wimbledon in 2017 alongside partner Marc Lopez.
The police raid into alleged match-fixing in football last month is understood to have now spread into tennis, a sport where corruption has been prominent due to recent investigations within the sport.
Lopez has been unavailable for comment after his singles match at Queen’s on Tuesday against Marton Fucsovics was rained off, but the Press Association reports that he strenuously denies the allegations and is taking legal advice.
Mark Lopez has also strongly denied the allegations, and the 26-year-old told Spanish daily AS: “We have nothing to do with it, they have no right to dirty our names like that.”
