Andy Murray admits he may have to change his tennis style when he returns to singles action

Andy Murray admits he may be forced to change his playing style as he begins his post-Wimbledon quest to return to singles tennis.

Murray and Serena Williams’ mixed doubles run came to an end as they lost 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 to top seeds Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar.

The former world No1 has set no timeframe on when he might make a competitive return to singles having come through the grass-court season without any pain in his hip.

But he said: “You need to find the right way of playing that would be good for your body, but also allows you to be competitive and win.

“I’ll only know once I get back out there and start doing it. There’s things I need to change and adapt.”

Murray’s game has been built around his movement and returning and he remains unsure if he will be able to continue this approach. He said: “I think you need to try and find that balance.”
