Andy Levitre thanks the Falcons in classy Instagram post

When the Falcons agreed to sign former Jets left guard James Carpenter to a four-year deal, the writing was on the wall for veteran Andy Levitre.

Levitre has been with the team since coming over in a trade with the Titans four years ago. However, his contract expired on Wednesday and no new deal has been reported. Nothing is official, but it’s unlikely he will return for 2019. Levitre is also suggesting he might not be back in Atlanta next season in an Instagram post on Thursday which thanked the city, coach Dan Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff for the experience.

Levitre was an effective left guard until triceps injuries derailed his playing time. Carpenter is projected to replace him in the starting lineup.

In related news, on Tuesday Vaughn McClure at ESPN reported he ran into Levitre at Whole Foods. At the time, Levitre said he’s unsure about his future in Atlanta but does want to continue playing.
