Not long ago, a race between Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Andy Isabella went around social media, showing Murray’s speed. It appeared that the speedy Isabella barely beat out Murray.
However, that video was only part of the story.
Isabella reluctantly explained how it all went down in an appearance on “The Jim Rome Show.”
He initially balked at telling the story.
“I’m not going to make him mad,” Isabella said.
Apparently, Isabella was running races against other teammates. Murray was not participating but “thought he wanted to race” after Isabella was “beating everyone on another line.”
“I was getting bored racing the other guys, so I started standing next to him,” he recalled. “He started talking trash, and I started smoking him.”
Murray got mad, explained Isabella, and then the race that was shared all over social media occurred.
“That was the only one he came close on,” Isabella said.
So Isabella is the fastest guy on the team, and Murray has another gear he can go into when he is motivated. Hopefully, Cardinals fans get to see that at some point this season.
