The Cleveland Browns held their local pro day for budding NFL prospects with ties to the area, be it college or hometown, last Friday. While many of the names were already known, the team released the official list of all 36 participants today via the Browns website.
Some are from local colleges, including Ohio State and the area schools in the Mid-American Conference. But some smaller schools were also represented, including John Carroll and Notre Dame College.
Several players who grew up and attended high school in Northeast Ohio but went away to play college ball elsewhere also qualified and participated. Among those, UMass wideout Andy Isabella (Mayfield), Charleston DL John Cominsky (Barberton) and Kentucky TE C.J. Conrad (LaGrange) have all drawn interest from the Browns earlier in the workout season.
A special shoutout to Huron native Cody Thompson, who played wide receiver at Toledo. Nice to see Erie County — my roots — represented.
