Andy Halliday reveals his Steven Gerrard Rangers sack fears as he warns Ibrox flops to 'buck up' their ideas

Rangers defender Andy Halliday has demanded his side's shoddy stars sort out their shambolic form before it gets Steven Gerrard the sack.

The devastated defender made it crystal clear that none of the squad want their gaffer to go.

Gerrard insists he’s 'all in' for the long term but Halliday accepts constant repeats of this week’s horror shows against Hamilton and Hearts could jeopardise his position.

Fans are raging at the club’s domestic collapse in 2020 and Gerrard has aired frustrations.

Halliday said: “If you asked every player in that squad they’d tell you the one thing they don’t want to happen is for the gaffer to leave.

'For that not to happen, we need to buck up our ideas quickly because we’re the ones letting him and the club down.

“His disappointment filters through to us because we’ve let him and the fans down.

"The manager is black and white and his honesty is refreshing because that’s all you ask for.“

Rangers have 10 league games and a Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen left to restore their reputation.

Halliday said: “Everyone should be fearing for their future.

"Far too many of us have under performed for a long period, so fans are entitled to have a go.”
