Hearts star Andy Halliday insists his side need to stop conceding so many goals if they are to return to the Premiership as a force next season.
The Tynecastle side are top of the Championship but have conceded 14 goals in their 11 games so far this season.
And the midfielder feels that it is something they need to improve on or they'll be punished by better teams, whether that's in the cup this season or Premiership next year.
Robbie Neilson's men haven't kept a clean sheet since 2-0 win over Morton in December 5, and Halliday is desperate for that to improve as they look to secure an immediate return to the top flight.
After laughing off suggestions from Si Ferry on Open Goal that the league was over, Halliday said: "I still think, because I know how good we can be, that we can do better.
"I think we’ve conceded something like 304 goals. Nah we’ve conceded too many goals.
"We’ve got ambitions to go on and get better so that’s something we need to get better on.
"I think it’s seven points or something so we’re in a good position but I still think we can get better.
"Something I’ve noticed about the Championship is anyone can beat anyone. I think we went on a run of seven wins in a row and you end up getting a bit of a gap between you.
"The performances we had against Celtic and Hibs, I don’t think we’ve matched that in the league.
"It’s more of a case I know how good the players we’ve got are."
