Andy Gray stitched up as Rangers hero left red faced on live television as throwback photo leaves former striker cracking up

Former Rangers hero Andy Gray was well and truly stitched up when he was presented an image of his 20-year-old self on live television.

The veteran broadcaster is best known these days for his punditry work but back in the day he was a fearsome striker.

Gray won league titles with Everton and Rangers, as well as hitting seven goals in 20 Scotland caps.

It was his time at Aston Villa though that saw him stitched up live on BeIn Sports by co-host Richard Keys.

The pair have been firm friends since working together on Sky Sports and continue to work together out in the Middle East.

And ahead of Saturday's live football coverage Keys couldn't resist giving his old pal a ribbing over an image that had been used in production.

A confused Gray said: "I didn't see it, where is it?"

When the image was put up on screen the pundit was left in stitches.

He laughed: "Let me tell you in that picture I was, I think, 20.

"It was a year after I signed that one, before I got the perm!

"Listen, I think I've held my good looks very well I have to say!"
