Andy Gray in Rangers title shutdown as Ibrox hero begs excited Richard Keys 'don't go there'

Andy Gray has begged his broadcasting partner Richard Keys not to declare Rangers the winners of the Scottish Premiership - despite a 19-point lead.

The former Ibrox striker, and boyhood fan, reckons that while his beloved club have taken a big step with their win over bitter rivals Celtic today there is still work to do.

A Callum McGregor own goal was all that separated the teams after a 62nd minute Nir Bitton red card swung the momentum of the game in the favour of Steven Gerrard side’s favour.

Celtic had been the better side until that point but the dominance counted for nothing and Rangers are now coasting to their 55th title.

But despite the huge gap at the summit, and an excited Keys declaring the race over, Gray refused to join the premature party.

Here is the exchange in full as the pair bantered during their English Premier League coverage on Bein Sport .

Keys: "This is the day when Rangers won the Scottish Premiership."

Gray: "Oh no, don't go there please. Dont please, no.

Keys: "What do you mean?"

Gray: "We cannot take that attitude. It's a day when Rangers have taken a big step. A massive step..."

Keys: "Let me tell you this. If Rangers now don't win this title, everyone that's been connected with this title this season should send their money back, quit and somebody has got to put a lock on the gates."

Gray: "Yes."

Keys: "This is the day that Rangers won the title."

Gray: "Of course you are not going to get me saying that. This was a massive day."
