Andy Gray claims only one Man City defender could get in Liverpool FC's back four

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is the only member of his side's defence that would get into Liverpool's back four.

The French centre-back looks to be sidelined for around six months after picking up a knee injury in his side's 4-0 win over Brighton at the end of August.

Laporte had already flown to Barcelona for surgery on his injury when Pep Guardiola confirmed the timescale, with John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi set to deputise in the Frenchman's absence.

But after the duo's horror show against Norwich on Saturday evening, Bein Sports pundit Andy Gray believes Laporte is the only one of City's defenders who could get anywhere near Liverpool’s back four and that Guardiola's defence is their ‘achilles heel’ this season.

He said: “That is one of the main differences between Liverpool and Manchester City.

"Only Laporte would get anywhere near Liverpool’s back four. That is where City’s achilles heel is: defensively.
