Andy Dalton to face off against Vikings for just 3rd time in career

Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton is out of the concussion protocol and all signs point to the veteran starting on Sunday afternoon against the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Dalton, who spent the last nine years with the Bengals, has gone up against the Vikings just twice in his career. The last time was on Dec. 17, 2017. It wasn’t super memorable for Dalton. The Bengals lost 34-7 and Dalton threw for just 113 yards to go with two interceptions.

With Dak Prescott’s season-ending ankle injury, Dalton has found himself as the starter in Dallas. Before missing the last two weeks with a concussion, things weren’t going exactly great. The Cowboys scored just 13 points in those two games.

That doesn’t mean the Vikings should sleep on Dallas, though. Dalton has a talented receivers group that could turn it on against an inexperienced Vikings’ secondary.

There’s no disputing, though, that the Vikings have more to play for. Per FiveThirtyEight, a win over the Cowboys would jump Minnesota’s playoff odds to 42%.
