Andy Dalton’s return pins Bengals as slight underdogs in Week 14

The Cincinnati Bengals face an old friend Sunday when Andy Dalton walks back into Paul Brown Stadium as the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

It has been a long, strange journey to get to this point — and so 2020.

Dalton’s Cowboys are just 3-9, yet oddsmakers pin them as three-point favorites on the road, per BetMGM.

Unlike most weeks, this one is a little harder to see why. Dalton has only thrown seven touchdowns and six interceptions over seven games with his new team and the Cowboys defense has been historically bad.

Not that the Bengals have been overly impressive as the offense continues to tally under 200 total yards of offense with Brandon Allen under center and Zac Taylor at the controls — and he says he doesn’t intend on giving up play-calling duties.

With Burrow under center, the Bengals were a smartly weekly underdog pick and often covered the spread. Now, it’s hard to hit oddsmakers for making them home underdogs against a three-win team as the franchise just tries to get through the final four games healthy before another offseason of change.
