Andy Dalton addresses Bengals fans in farewell social media post

Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton addressed fans and the city of Cincinnati over the weekend on social media.

Dalton posted the following message, along with a lengthy video on Instagram:

“Thank you Cincinnati for the past 9 years. There are countless memories that will be with me forever. I am thankful for the friendships, my teammates, coaches, and the organization. Y’all pushed me to be a better everyday. Thank you to the Cincinnati community for supporting the @ajdfoundation. We could not have made the impact we did without y’all. Thank you @jjdalton5 for always supporting me and being by my side every step of the way. I am blessed that we are on this journey together. We will always cherish our time in Cincinnati. Who Dey!”

The Bengals released Dalton last week after it became apparent the front office wouldn’t be able to find a trade. He quickly found work as a backup in Dallas with the Cowboys.

While we can debate whether the Bengals botched Dalton’s exit, there was never any doubt he’d do something special like this while addressing fans and the city as he gets ready for the next phase of his football career.
