Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has offered his support to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his axing as the club's manager.
United made the move on Sunday morning in the aftermath of a shocking 4-1 defeat to Watford in the Premier League, who were just a single point above the relegation zone prior to kick-off.
The loss extended what has been a poor sequence of results for United, with Solskjaer under significant pressure following a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool and a 2-0 loss to Manchester City prior to the international break.
While the club elected not to make a move during the two week international break, the loss to Watford made the situation clear.
There has been plenty of reaction to Solskjaer's sacking and his former United teammate Andy Cole is among those to have had his say.
"All the best my friend.. what ever people say you will always be a Manchester United legend," he posted on Instagram.
"You have put your heart and soul into bringing the glory days back to Old Trafford."
United have announced that Michael Carrick will take temporary charge of the club while they seek an interim manager until the end of the season.
A Champions League clash against Villarreal on Tuesday is followed by Premier League tests against Chelsea and Arsenal.
United currently sit six points behind the top-four in the battle to secure qualification to the Champions League next season.
