Andy Cole praises four Manchester United players after win vs Aston Villa

Andy Cole has hailed four Manchester United players following the 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

The former United striker was on punditry duties for Sky Sports during the clash and heaped praise on the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial after the contest.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men moved up to second in the Premier League level on points with Liverpool thanks to goals from Martial and Fernandes, who restored United's lead following Bertrand Traore's equaliser.

Fernandes' winning goal came from the penalty spot after Pogba was adjudged to have been taken down by Douglas Luiz in the penalty area.

Asked how confident he was that Fernandes would score the penalty, Cole told Sky Sports: "Very confident. Every time this guy steps up, I think he's going to score.

"He's got all the confidence in the world. It was a tight one but he put it in the bottom corner. He is quality at set-pieces and he proved it again from the penalty spot."

Cole was then asked about whether he liked what United provided in terms of attacking intent during the clash and it was this segment which led to praise for Pogba, Rashford and Martial.

"I thought Paul Pogba was instrumental. Rashford was very, very sharp and got his shots off and caused a hell of a lot of problems for Villa's back four. And Martial finally got his goal and showed great feet. That's going to give him a lot more confidence."
