Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is struggling to find a suitable system that accommodates all of the talent he has at his disposal.
Following a memorable summer transfer window, which saw Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo arrive at Old Trafford, United's squad is now awash with talent especially in forward positions.
Certainly recently, Solskjaer — who will be hoping to see his side arrest their three-match winless run in the Premier League when they face Liverpool this afternoon — has struggled to decide on a settled line-up, something that pundits have claimed had led to United's recent struggles.
Although United's defence tends to pick itself, certainly when everyone is fit and available for selection, it is in midfield and attack where changes have recently been frequent, with Paul Pogba and Ronaldo among those to be left out on occasion. Edinson Cavani and Jadon Sancho have struggled for regular starts.
And Solskjaer's former teammate Cole believes the side is currently disjointed, pointing to their current failings to get the best from a group of players with so much talent.
"I think at the moment, it hurts me to say, I think it's a bit of round holes, square pegs," Cole told Premier League Productions.
"We've got loads of talent, and I mean loads of talent, but how do you try to fit all that talent in?"
