Andy Cole delivers Steve Cooper verdict following Nottingham Forest turnaround

Premier League legend Andy Cole has delivered his verdict on the job done by Steve Cooper with Nottingham Forest at the halfway point of the season.

The Reds struggled in the early months of the campaign, winning just one of their first 11 league games. But they have lost just two of the following eight matches, lifting them up to 13th in the standings, their highest position this term.

Ex-Forest striker Cole says that his former side's current position is largely down to the good work done by the manager. He has been left impressed by how Cooper has managed to get the club's many summer signings to buy into his methods.

"From the outside looking in, Steve Cooper looks like a really good manager," Cole told Betway. "It’s always going to be tough when you bring in so many new signings but they’ve found their feet now.

"If you look at the position Forest are in, a lot of that is down to him. He’s got the players to buy into it and if he can keep them up it would be a massive achievement."

Forest are current five points above the drop zone with 19 games played. They face Bournemouth at Dean Court this Saturday (kick-off 3pm) in a game that could have a big say in the relegation battle.
