An impressive portrait of Newcastle United's former number nine Andy Carroll featuring praise from Magpies legend Alan Shearer has been unveiled on social media.
The 31-year-old striker shared a picture of the work produced by artist Andy Hirst on Instagram on Tuesday, and received praise from Magpies supporters for the 'incredible' work.
The mixed media artwork features a prominent headshot of Carroll in the foreground, with 'Legend' emblazoned across his forehead.
Pictures of the Gateshead-born frontman's highlights with both the Magpies and England make up the background, with his goal celebrations against Ghana and Sweden featuring in the top-right corner.
The portrait is anchored by a quote from Shearer, reading "Andy Carroll will cause anyone problems and I don't see a problem in that".
Carroll was clearly pleased with the end result in his first Instagram post for the 'unexpected gift', before posting 'Thank You' to Andy's Art Studio for the portait.
It was a reaction shared by United supporters judging by the comments, and even Carroll's former West Ham team-mate Adrian.
One fan wrote: "Love it Andy."
Another supporter posted: "Nice bit [of] kit that."
A third fan commented: "This is incredible."
Carroll has made nine appearances for United this season, coming on as a late substitute in the home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
