Andy Carroll reckons Newcastle 'deserved something' from Leicester clash

Andy Carroll believes Newcastle United deserved a point from their clash with Leicester City at St James' Park.

The big striker netted his first goal in club colours since 2010, but it wasn't enough to stop the Magpies sliding to a 2-1 defeat.

Carroll's strike with eight minutes left was his first since arriving from West Ham on a free transfer in 2019.

After the clash, Carroll said: "We are disappointed with the result. It wasn't to be at the end of the day.

"All game it was there and obviously when I came on, we got the goal and put the pressure on them so could have nicked something.

"It wasn't a great first half. It's hard this time of the year with all the games.

"We came out in the second half and played a lot better.

"I thought we deserved something."
