Andy Carroll has likely played his final game for West Ham after being ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
The former England striker's career has been ravaged by injury virtually since he left Newcastle in 2011 after enjoying his only season of double-figure goals in the Premier League.
A £35m move to Liverpool saw just one season of regular production before a loan spell at West Ham resulted in a permanent move.
But Carroll's time in east London has been similarly frustrating, playing 20+ league games in just one season of six since making his loan deal full-time in 2013.
The 30-year-old centre-forward has managed just three starts and nine substitute appearances this year after missing the first four months of the season through injury. He has no goaals in 456 league minutes, and having struggled to stay fit, the Hammers are not currently inclined to offer him a contract extension.
Sources close to the player say no decision has been made on his future, but having undergone ankle surgery this week his season is over and likely his stint at the London Stadium.
