Andy Carroll gets the nod as Steve Bruce reveals Newcastle starting line-up

Steve Bruce named a strong team to face FA Cup holders Arsenal tonight.

The Magpies boss handed Martin Dubravka his first start of the season while skipper Jamaal Lascelles returned from Covid.

Up front he went with last week's goalscorer Andy Carroll alongside record signing Joelinton - although both Jonjo Shelvey and Callum Wilson were left out of the squad entirely.

Bruce was also able to name Miguel Almiron and Isaac Hayden in his starting line-up.

Paul Dummett was also back after self isolation but Geordie boy Elliot Anderson, who was talked up in the build-up, was only named as sub.

United : Dubravka, Krafth, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Hendrick, Almiron, Joelinton, Carroll

Subs: Gillespie, Yedlin, Matty Longstaff, Ritchie, Murphy, Elliot Anderson, Gayle
