  • Andy Burnham, the new prime minister, is ‘looking into’ holding a public inquiry into the actions of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein on UK soil, as confirmed by victims minister Alex Davies-Jones.
  • Ms Davies-Jones stated that the prime minister is taking the issue 'very seriously' and has agreed to meet with Epstein's victims.
  • A potential inquiry into claims against Mohamed Al Fayed, the former Harrods owner, is also under review, following over 400 allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
  • The Metropolitan Police are currently speaking to at least 156 victims who have come forward with allegations against Al Fayed.
  • The prime minister has assured that he will work towards systemic change for all victims and ensure lessons are learned to prevent similar incidents in the future.
