Andy Bryan sacked by Morton after kitman found guilty of betting charges

Morton have sacked kitman Andy Bryan – after he was found guilty of betting charges.

Bryan was handed a 12 game ban from the Scottish Football Association for breaching gambling regulations after a disciplinary hearing in October.

The former Scotland under-19 kitman was charged with nine counts of betting on football matches by the governing body, from 2013-14 up to this season.

Some of the punts included bets on games involving Championship side Morton.

Morton chiefs launched their own disciplinary hearing.

Record Sport understands that Bryan was informed by recorded delivery mail last week that he was being dumped from his position with immediate effect.

The former kitman had been suspended since the probe was launched.

Bryan, a life-long Morton fan, is currently considering his legal position and a possible appeal.
