Andros Townsend is confident of forcing his way back into the Crystal Palace side after admitting it has been difficult watching from the sidelines.
The 28-year-old winger has started just three Premier League games this season, coming on as a substitute on five occasions.
“Of course it’s difficult,” Townsend told Standard Sport.
“Most of my time at Palace I’ve been a starter, but unfortunately, in the first two games [against Everton and Sheffield United], I wasn’t playing as well as I would have liked and Palace weren’t picking up the points.
“The manager made changes and since then, we’ve been on a great run. For me, it’s just about being patient and trying to be positive and trying to think how I can influence the team when I do come on, or on a day-to-day basis throughout the week.
“I try to make an impact every time I’ve stepped on the field and on a few occasions I’ve done that.”
Speaking at the Selhurst Park launch of Football Unites, Townsend added: “I probably wasn’t playing as well as I would have liked to the first few games.
“But I’m sure that my time will come again.”
