Andrew Whitworth mulling retirement after Super Bowl loss

Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth might choose to hang up the cleats this offseason.

Whitworth’s season with the Los Angeles Rams didn’t turn out the way he’d hoped after a loss to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. But it was clear retirement talk would be on the table regardless of the result.

The left tackle confirmed this himself:

Sean McVay has since said he’s going to talk to Whitworth about the matter.

Now 37 years old, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Whitworth decide to call it quits. Then again, he continues to play well and a taste of the Super Bowl and a young team around him could inspire another push.

Either way, both Rams and Bengals fans will watch closely to see what he decides.
