Andrew Tutte had to come off with a thigh problem against Southend United while Shaun Miller is poised for another spell on the sidelines after suffering a torn hamstring in training, Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has confirmed.
Midfielder Tutte was substituted in the early stages of today's 3-0 win at the University of Bolton Stadium over Southend and was replaced by Tom White.
Striker Miller meanwhile was not in the matchday squad and had his place on the bench filled by midfielder Brandon Comley.
Tutte has started the last four games in League Two as part of an unchanged starting 11 named by Evatt which has yielded maximum points and taken Wanderers into the top half of the table.
Though not giving a timescale for how long Tutte will be out for, Evatt confirmed that Miller will be out for 'a while' after tearing his hamstring in training.
The former Crewe Alexandra and Sheffield United striker has been used as a substitute off the bench in the previous four League Two matches prior to the clash against the Shrimpers.
Evatt believes naming the same team has been a significant factor in the improvement seen at Bolton in recent weeks, but lamented the injuries picked up by both Miller and Tutte.
"I think consistency and obviously repetition on the training pitch helps people improve. It was always going to come right, I was confident about that, but it obviously helps when you’ve got players fit and available," he said.
"Unfortunately for us Shaun Miller has torn his thigh in training on Thursday so he’s going to be out again for a while and Andrew Tutte’s picked up a thigh injury today, so that’s the nature of the beast.
"I think everyone’s struggling with these muscle injuries as I’ve said many times with the pandemic and the condensed nature of the fixtures.
"It’s just something that we’ve got to adapt and overcome."
