Andrew Neil makes big admission on Piers Morgan GB News 'job offer'

Andrew Neil has admitted he'd love to have Piers Morgan on his new channel GB News after his Good Morning Britain exit, saying he'd be a "huge asset."

There has been plenty of speculation about what Piers will do next after his decision to quit GMB was announced by ITV on Tuesday night.

His son Spencer teased a 'great comeback ' as he threw support behind Piers on social media and broadcaster Andrew, the chair of soon to be launched GB News, was put on the spot about giving him a job during an appearance on Thursday's This Morning.

Getting straight to the point, Phillip Schofield said: "So Andrew, in the studio next door there's a vacant seat currently, erm Piers Morgan flounced out, so will you be offering him a job?

Andrew responded: "I thought if you were going to ask if I was going to fill the vacant seat!

"We're about to launch GB News it'll be a different kind of news channel. I think Piers would be a huge asset for that kind of news channel.

"I wouldn't want to transfer what he was doing for Good Morning Britain straight to GB News. I'd want to do something different with him at a different time of day.

Phillip added: "He is what he is though isn't he?" to which Andrew replied: "He is what he is but I also think he's adaptable and he can do different things in different ways and I think he could be a huge asset to our channel if we could get him.

"We will try and do so and see if we can come to some sort of mutual agreement. He won't be short on offers so no doubt there'll be a bit of competition."

Phillip quipped: "He won't come cheap either I wouldn't have thought."
