Andrew Neil left looking like 'Shrek' and 'Yoda' during BBC election coverage

BBC general eection viewers have been left baffled by Andrew Neil's appearance tonight, with some people likening him to Shrek or Yoda from Star Wars.

Many bemused TV viewers tuning in for updates on the General Election 2019 took to Twitter to comment on the position of the presenter's left ear.

It would seem that the veteran interviewer appeared to have a problem with his ear piece, which left his ear bent in a point.

Unsurprisingly, social media users headed online to post about Neil's somewhat bizarre look.

One user wrote: "What has happened to Andrew Neil's ear. He's turned into Shrek / Gremlin / Yoda... take your pick."

A second agreed: " @afneil doing a Yoda’s ear impression on BBC"

A third also said: "Andrew Neil appears to have Yoda ears"

"Andrew Neil has ears like Yoda", a fourth added.

The 70-year-old - who Boris Johnson famously refused to sit down with before the British public made way to the polls  - was hosting the General Election coverage on the BBC, alongside lead presenter Huw Edwards.

The duo revealed a joint Sky/BBC/ITV poll forecast earlier on, which showed PM Boris Johnson on course to win an overall majority of 86 in the House of Commons.

This will be the biggest victory for the party since Margaret Thatcher's in 1987.

According to the exit poll, the Conservatives could return 368 MPs to Westminster, with 191 for Labour.

The SNP were predicted to win 55 seats, Lib Dems 13 seats, Plaid Cymru 3, Greens one seat and others 19.
