- Elected members of the City of London Corporation have formally invited Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to relinquish his Freedom of the City.
- The honour was granted to him in 2012 by patrimony, as his father, Prince Philip, was also a freeman.
- The Corporation stated there is no effective legal mechanism to remove freedoms received via patrimony, hence the invitation for him to voluntarily give it up.
- They will consider any response received from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at a future meeting to determine further action.
- This move follows Andrew's Freedom of the City of York being removed in 2022, and Sarah Ferguson losing her York title in March, both due to associations with Jeffrey Epstein.
