Journalist Andrew Marr left the BBC in style today as he presented the final episode of The Andrew Marr Show.
The presenter, 62, is moving to Global Radio, but told viewers there was only one way he could sign off after 16 years.
Addressing the audience at the end of the politics programme he said: "I have been so lucky and so privileged to share so many Sunday mornings with you.
"I had been wondering how to close this final show, but I can't do better than quoting my great mentor: 'You stay classy, San Diego.'"
Anchorman fans instantly recognised the line from the cult film in which Will Ferrell's character, Ron Burgundy, plays a news reporter at a TV station in San Diego.
The sign-off sent fans into a frenzy with one taking to Twitter saying: "What a sign off by @AndrewMarr9," alongside a hand-clapping emoji.

Another said: "Andrew #Marr closes his final episode with 'You stay classy, San Diego.' Which I'm not going to pretend I didn't love."
The seasoned star, who suffered a major stroke in 2013, joined the BBC as a political journalist 2000 and will now present shows on LBC and Classic FM.
He said he was grateful to Global for giving him “new freedom” to do “fast-paced, very regular political journalism on LBC with no filter”.
Andrew is admired by many famous faces with maths whizz Carol Vorderman taking to Twitter to wish him well in his new adventure.

She wrote: "Loved @AndrewMarr9 sign out from his last show this morning after 16 years hosting The Andrew Marr Show.
"You're a gent Andrew & a brilliant journalist. Thank you for all the Sundays."
While Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid tweeted: You set the standard for political interviewing @AndrewMarr9 and you set the agenda for the week ahead.
"Always love working with you, and being a guest on the programme. Going to miss you on Sundays but looking forward to your new projects."

Journalist Sophie Raworth has been announced as the interim presenter of the BBC flagship programme, which will temporarily be called Sunday Morning.
The BBC said in a statement that Sophie will present the politics show for a “short period” while the broadcaster looks for a permanent replacement.
