The Indianapolis Colts are moving onto the offseason and the 2020 campaign but they will be doing so without former quarterback Andrew Luck in the plans.
For those wondering, general manager Chris Ballard said in his year-end press conference that the fact Luck retired needs to be accepted and that there are no plans for him to come back.
“Look: Andrew’s retired,” Ballard said Thursday. “Do I talk to Andrew? Yes I do. Haven’t talked to him here in a few weeks. I’m sure he’s been busy being a father. But Andrew is retired. I think we all need to accept that. That’s where he’s at. He’s retired.”
Luck retired just a few weeks before the 2019 season due to the mental draining of the injury cycle he had been on. He has still been around the facility rehabbing and seeing some of his old teammates, but he’s not coming back into the fold.
The Colts will continue to move on without Luck, and they must decide if Jacoby Brissett is truly the long-term answer as his successor.
