The movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical CATS divided fans and left more than a few disappointed.
And now, a 1999 stage production starring the originator of the role of Grizabella, Elaine Page, will be streaming on The Shows Must Go On! YouTube channel from 7pm on Friday, May 15 - for free.
Unlike some other shows on the channel, however, it will only be available for 24 hours for UK viewers, rather than 48 hours.
Shows already released on the channel in partnership with Universal have included Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Phantom of the Opera, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's take on T.S. Eliot's poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats ran in London for 21 years and is the sixth-longest running West End musical of all time.
The musical was turned into a feature-length film in 2019, starring Dame Judi Dench, Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, and Ian McKellen, but received generally negative reviews from critics and fans.
