Andrew Lloyd Webber is taking requests from his back catalogue to perform in isolation

London’s shows might have all closed for now, but you can still sate your musical theatre appetite from home.

Theatre impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber is taking requests on his Twitter account of songs to play from his vast back catalogue, while in isolation.

After putting a call-out to his followers for suggestions, the song which first picked up the most attention was All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera, which he performed on his piano.

Joined by his dog halfway through, Lloyd Webber put viewers’ minds at rest by reassuring his pet that “it’s alright, it doesn’t come from Cats”.

Lloyd Webber said he wasn’t expecting such a response from this tryout, so perhaps we can expect more musical snippets from the composer soon.
