Andrew Ladd's goal gives Islanders OT win over Canucks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia _ The Islanders couldn't hold the lead in the closing seconds of the third period, but on a night when they had very little left in the tank and needed two points, they got what they came for.

Andrew Ladd redirected Calvin de Haan's feed past Ryan Miller at 1:33 of overtime to give the Islanders a 4-3 victory over the Canucks on Thursday night, keeping the Isles a point ahead of the Maple Leafs for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Thomas Greiss made 36 saves and Josh Bailey had three assists for the Islanders, who head to St. Louis with a 5-2-1 record on their nine-game trip.
