Andrew Garfield reveales if he will RETURN as Spider-Man

Andrew Garfield is opening up about the possibility of seeing him swinging back on the big screens as Spider-Man once more.

The 41-year-old actor, who last portrayed the iconic web-slinger in 2014's 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' and made a surprise cameo alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire in 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', now has fans wondering if he's open to swinging back into action again.

Just off an interview with Esquire, the actor said he would consider reprising the role only if he gets to jump on to a unique concept that would add something new to the Spider-Man universe.

“For sure, I would 100% come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into,” he explained.

He concluded that if his role brings joy to others, then he himself feels that happiness. He said, “I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.”

The actor also remembered he was initially hesitant to join the 2021 film in which his version of Spider-Man was paired with both Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland's. Garfield revealed he wasn't sure if Maguire would accept to feature in the movie, given that Maguire has been known to select very few acting jobs. And to his surprise, he leaned towards agreeing.

Garfield admits that he thought the movie was going to be either wonderful or an utter disaster, but he is thankful for how it really turned out.

With the multiverse saga coming to its culmination with the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars', rumours are rife that Garfield will be back as Spider-Man in the upcoming film that will likely feature Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and will also mark Robert Downey Jr's return to the MCU as Doctor Doom.
