Andrew Fisher: Jeremy Corbyn adviser called for Tony Blair to face trial for Iraq War

Andrew Fisher, an adviser to the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, is facing further scrutiny after it emerged that he previously called for Tony Blair to be tried as a war criminal.

On 7 January this year, Mr Fisher commented on a headline saying the former Prime Minister could face war crimes charges over the Iraq war, adding his comment: “Long overdue – let’s hope so.”

Mr Fisher is the subject of a complaint because of a tweet he posted before the general election apparently encouraging voters in Croydon South to vote for Jon Bigger, who was standing as the Class War candidate, rather than Labour candidate Emily Benn.

The Guido Fawkes website has also turned up a tweet from April 2013, in which Mr Fisher attacked Labour MP Simon Danczuk for contributing an article to The Sun, saying “Dear  @SimonDanczuk MP, if you’re going to write right-wing propaganda for The Scum, fuck off and join the Tories.” Three months later, he commented “My phone autocorrects ‘Danczuk’ as ‘Dumbfuck’ … I do love intuitive technology.”
