Andrew Dunbar death leaves Game Of Thrones star Alfie Allen "shocked and saddened"

Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen says he has been "shocked and saddened" by news of the death of his stage double in the TV show, Andrew Dunbar.

Alfie who played Theon Greyjoy in the hit HBO drama, sent his thought to Andrew's family a day ahead of his funeral on Monday.

Andrew, who was in his 30s, died suddenly at his home in East Belfast on Christmas Eve. His funeral service is planned for 2pm in Ballywillan Presbyterian Church in Portrush.

Actor Andrew Dunbar played Alfie Allen's double for his character Theon Greyjoy (GoT and Helen Sloan, GoT Principle Stills Photographer)

Andrew had worked  as the body double for Theon Greyjoy, stepped in for photoshoots by Helen Sloan, the principle stills photographer for the show and had also roles in Line of Duty and Derry Girls , as well as being a much loved DJ and artist.

Alfie, 33, wrote on Instagram: “Andrew was an actor who was also a stand-in as Theon on GoT. Extremely shocked and saddened to hear of his passing.

"To lose a loved one so young, I can only imagine what his family are going through. RIP Andrew xxx.”

Pamela Smyth, Head of Crowd Makeup Game of Thrones, said: “Even among the thousands of extras that came through the crowd room on Thrones - Andrew always stood out.

“Always professional and mannerly with a big broad beaming smile. A beautiful soul - he will be missed by all the GOT family.”

Andrew's death is not being treated as suspicious.
