Andrew Berry: ‘Teams will change a lot’ between now and the end of the season

Browns GM Andrew Berry believes in his team and the roster he’s assembled in Cleveland, but that doesn’t mean the work is done. The second-year GM admitted there are still some changes coming to the team.

In his recent appearance on the Ross Tucker Podcast, an at-ease Berry was careful to point out,

“Teams will change a lot over the next, what is it, May, over the next seven or eight months.”

Between injuries, unexpected performances–both positive and negative–and the randomness of life in the NFL, the young GM shows an understanding of how best-laid plans need to have backup plans and adaptability to the situation.

Berry continued,

“I always tell people, you plan something out a certain way in the spring, but it rarely ever plays out 100 percent of the way that you have designed. You get surprises in both directions.”

He concluded with the mantra of a life coach,

“There’s nothing you can take for granted and that’s ultimately why we focus on what we can control.”

It’s important to note Berry was speaking generally on the idea of change throughout the entire league, not indicating any desire to make any radical changes to his Browns.
