Andrew Berry’s college playing career gets a nod

Andrew Berry has earned his reputation for being football-savvy as the general manager of the Cleveland Browns. He’s quickly assembled a winning team and a smart, strong coaching staff, turning around years of futility into a playoff contender.

While he’s known for his analytical approach and embrace of the statistical studying of football, some people forget that Berry did play the game. He was a cornerback for the Harvard Crimson, starting all four seasons of his undergrad career.

There is, in fact, visual proof of Berry making a play at Harvard. The Twitter account “Random College Athletes” found a picture of Berry running with the ball in his hands on what appears to be an interception return and posted it to their account. Plays like that helped Berry earn All-Ivy League honors in three consecutive seasons at Harvard.

While he excelled on the field in college, Berry clearly found his calling as the man making the decisions in Cleveland.
