Andrew Berry hired away from Browns by Eagles as VP of Football Operations

The Cleveland Browns have a new opening in the front office. Vice President of Player Personnel Andrew Berry has left the Browns to join the Philadelphia Eagles as their new VP of Football Operations, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Berry has been a coveted commodity around the league. The holdover from the Sashi Brown era has close ties to Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and was viewed by many as a potential GM, either in Cleveland or elsewhere. This move is another step in that direction for the Harvard-educated Berry.

The move comes just a day before the NFL Scouting Combine kicks off in Indianapolis. That leaves no time for the Browns to replace Berry. His duties figure to be divided amongst Eliot Wolf and Alonzo Highsmith, who joined the front office with GM John Dorsey last winter.
