Andrei Arlovski found out what happens when he sticks to his team’s game plan

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Andrei Arlovski beat Philipe Lins with a unanimous decision Wednesday on the main card at UFC on ESPN+ 29 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Take a look inside the fight with Arlovski, who has alternated wins and losses his past four fights.

Result: Andrei Arlovski def. Philipe Lins via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
Updated records: Arlovski (29-9 MMA, 18-13 UFC), Lins (14-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC)
Key stat: Arlovski won a decision for the fifth straight time and doesn’t have a finish since September 2015.

Arlovski on the fight’s key moment

“I’ve met some good people, and they’ve changed my life. I feel like I’m on a new clean page. I’m on a new chapter in my life. I’m ready to go. Today, first of all, I took my opponent seriously – not like in November – and I just stuck with the game plan, which was a problem for me all the time. That works.”

Arlovski on adjusting how he fights

“I have a few more years. When fighters start growing, he’s going down. I don’t want to go down. I want to go up.”

Arlovski on what he wants next

“If I’m doing what I have to do, and I’m fighting in the UFC, of course I want to get a shot at the title. Some people say I’m crazy or I’m too old. (Expletive) that. I’m not going to explain to anyone. I’ll take my chances.”
