Andreas Pereira reacts to Manchester United Carabao Cup draw

Andreas Pereira says he expects a 'tough' game when Manchester United travel to face Chelsea in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

United booked their place in the draw after squeezing past League One side Rochdale on Wednesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side beat Dale on penalties thanks to a decisive shoot-out save from Sergio Romero following a gruelling 1-1 draw in normal time.

In contrast, Frank Lampard's side booked their place in the fourth round with a thumping 7-1 victory over League Two outfit Grimsby Town at Stamford Bridge.

United won away at Chelsea in the FA Cup last season and Andreas Pereira believes a repeat result is possible when they make the trip next month.

"It is a good game, a tough game but we will try for it and try to win the game," Pereira told MUTV after the draw had been made.

"It can be done, we will prepare for the game but for now we need to focus on the Arsenal game."

United have not won a trophy since 2017 and are desperate to end their mini-drought after a couple of underwhelming seasons.

When quizzed on United's ambitions in the Carabao Cup, the Brazilian midfielder said it is a trophy the team wants to win.

Pereira added: "I think we have to aim all the way, we have to take every game step by step but we are in it to win it."
