Andreas Pereira in Celtic Park mystery as Manchester United star attends Hearts clash

Andreas Pereira has sparked a Celtic mystery after turning up to the Hoops clash with Hearts.

The Manchester United midfielder was spotted in the stands at Celtic Park for the Premiership game on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian has been in and out of the United team this season and has previously spent time on loan at Granada and Valencia.

Pereira was an unused sub in United's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday and made the journey up to Glasgow to watch Neil Lennon's side in action.

There's no suggestion the midfielder is in Glasgow for talks but it hasn't stopped Hoops fans wondering if he could be their big-name signing of the summer.

The Belgian-born star, who has one cap for his father's country Brazil, watched on as Celtic took the lead against the Jambos through Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

Pereira signed a new deal until 2023 at Old Trafford in the summer and started the first game of the season against Chelsea.

But he dropped to the bench for the draw with Wolves and then was left sitting among the subs while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked towards Juan Mata and Mason Greenwood to rescue his side instead.

Pereira, of course, could also have been up in Glasgow to watch his namesake and friend Joel in goal for Hearts.

The on-loan goalkeeper joined the club from Manchester United on a season long deal and was between the sticks for the game.
